The Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Chase Claypool did not practice on Thursday due to an illness, per the injury report. Claypool and the Steelers are coming off their first loss of the season and will play the Buffalo Bills in primetime on Sunday Night Football.

Claypool has exceeded expectations as a rookie, finding the end zone a whopping eight times through 12 games. He has 47 receptions for 649 yards to go with those scores.

His status for Week 14 will be much more optimistic if he can get in a limited or full practice on Friday. The Steelers James Washington would likely see the biggest increase in work if Claypool were to be sidelined this week, while Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster would also see an uptick.

The Bills have one of the best corners in the league in Tre’Davious White, but are weak overall against the pass. The Steelers offense has been stuck in first gear of late, so we’ll see if they can get things going on Sunday night.
