Sunday update: Hooper is listed as questionable and is not expected to play on Monday against the Ravens, per Ian Rapoport.
Cleveland Browns tight end Austin Hooper did not practice on Friday due to a neck injury, per The Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot. The Browns play on Monday night, so there is still time for Hooper to get be cleared before the game, but we don’t have any news on the severity of his injury at this point.
Hooper missed time earlier in the season due to an appendectomy and Harrison Bryant and David Njoku split work in his absence. That would probably be the case again if Hooper is unable to suit up against the Baltimore Ravens.
Mr. Hooper hasn’t seen much usage since his surgery, with eight catches for 81 yards and a touchdown over his last four games. He did have five receptions in each of the three games before his surgery. The Ravens are a tough matchup as it is, so there’s not much upside for any of these tight ends on Monday night.
