Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has had a bit of a resurgence over the last few weeks thanks to a weak schedule, but will it get tougher this week as he heads down to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings QB Kirk Cousins
Cousins has been on fire in the past few weeks, posting 300-yard games, just one interception and is getting over 21 fantasy points per week for his owners over the last three weeks. He also has thrown 14 touchdown passes in his last five games, but this week he’ll see a much better passing defense than he has recently.
The Bucs defense has allowed nearly 1,000 passing yards in the last two weeks, but that was against the Kansas City Chiefs and the LA Rams, so don’t expect that again on Sunday. Still, Cousins will be one of the better passers Tampa has faced outside of the last two games. Over the last month and a half, the defense has only held opposing QB’s to under 300 yards once, and it was a backup quarterback. So he should continue his streak of 300+ yard passing games. They’ve also allowed 12 touchdowns through the air in the same time period.
Cousins has quietly been putting together a pretty solid end run to the season thanks to some of his fantastic receiving threats. I’d expect that to continue this week against a Tampa defense that has looked sluggish against the pass in the home stretch.
