What to do with Drew Sample in Week 14 fantasy football

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Drew Sample ahead of the Bengals Week 14 matchup against the Cowboys.

While the loss of rookie quarterback Joe Burrow has been a huge drag on the Cincinnati Bengals offense, one player who has seen an uptick in production with the backup quarterback is tight end Drew Sample. Last week, he was targeted seven times, catching all of them for 49 yards. The week before that he caught four of five targets for 40 yards. And while those aren’t exactly Earth-shattering numbers, it’s enough to warrant some looks in fantasy football, especially in PPR leagues.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals TE Drew Sample

Sample has obviously been just a security blanket for Brandon Allen. But until the last couple weeks, his numbers have been up and down. Things are a little more complicated this week because Allen could be out with an injury. Ryan Finley would replace him. The offense would still need a safety valve for whoever is under center, which makes Sample a decent, but risky, option for a TE2 this week.
