What to do with Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd in Week 14 fantasy football

Without Joe Burrow, production by the Bengals’ top wideouts has understandably fallen.

The Cincinnati Bengals continue their march toward a top-5 pick without the services of quarterback Joe Burrow. The top selection from the 2020 NFL Draft blew out his knee in Week 11 and left a decaying mess of an offense in his wake.

That has necessarily meant that several of the weapons still available in Cincinnati have lost significant fantasy value as the Bengals’ replacement passers — Brandon Allen and Ryan Finley — cannot replicate much of what makes Burrow special.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals WRs Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd

While Burrow’s injury overshadows everything else going in with the Bengals, the team has another rookie injury that deserves attention. Wide receiver Tee Higgins, Cincinnati’s second-round pick earlier this year, only practiced in a limited capacity this week due to hamstring trouble. Higgins has recorded 729 receiving yards this season, second only to Minnesota Vikings breakout star Justin Jefferson among rookies. However, Higgins’ production has noticeably dipped since Burrow’s injury.

Fortunately for the Bengals, veteran Tyler Boyd does not enter the weekend with any injury concerns. He will likely serve as the team’s top target against the Dallas Cowboys, a team currently yielding roughly 12 receptions for 166 yards and nearly two touchdowns to opposing wideouts. While that matchup looks appealing for Boyd, he has struggled with consistency the past two weeks. In week 12 against the New York Giants, he caught just three passes for 15 yards. He only hauled in one pass last Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, though that play went for 72 yards and a score.
