After handing the Chicago Bears their sixth-straight loss on the season, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will be trying to upset the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Matthew Stafford
Last week, Lions quarterback Matt Stafford had one of his best games this season, without his All-Pro wide receiver Kenny Golladay and rookie running back D’Andre Swift. The veteran quarterback completed 27-of-42 passes for 402 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception.
This was fourth time that Stafford threw for at least three TD passes in a game, but the first time he threw for 400 yards in 2020. In regards to fantasy football, the former first round pick scored a season-high 26 points, which is impressive with an injury thumb.
Stafford will not try to duplicate this performance with the same cast of characters on Sunday. Unlike the Bears, the Packers’ secondary is pretty good. Through 13 weeks, Green Bay is only allowing opposing quarterbacks to score 16.5 fantasy points per game.
That being said, the Packers will likely put up a lot of points, meaning that Stafford will have to throw a considerable amount to keep his team in it. If you need a streaming option, heading into the playoffs, he might be one of your better choices.
