Never rule out a team that is going up against an opponent clearly shooting for a tank. The Oakland Raiders were dangerously close to giving the New York Jets their first win of the season in Week 13, but a horrendous defensive play call allowed Derek Carr to convert a 56-yard touching to win 31-28. Carr will have an actually difficult matchup this week, so should we expect a drop-off in fantasy performance?
Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders QB Derek Carr
Thanks to the last second touchdown throw, Derek Carr recorded his best fantasy performance of the season with 381 passing yards and three touchdowns for a week-leading 35.74 DKFP. Unfortunately, he and the Raiders will host one of the league’s stingiest pass defenses in Week 14. The Colts have only allowed 15 passing touchdowns from opposing QBs, just one more than the league-leading Dolphins and Rams. The game’s point total is at 51.5, but should likely shrink as Sunday approaches, especially considering both teams will be cautious and strategic as they are fighting for the same playoff spot.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Only start Carr as a QB2.
