The Los Angeles Chargers won a thriller over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14, and they finished it off without one of their best offensive playmakers. Wide receiver Keenan Allen was not on the field late in the game, and head coach Anthony Lynn said it was due to soreness, per Daniel Popper. Later, Allen said he fell on his back during the game.
The Chargers face the Las Vegas Raiders on a short week, with the team squaring off on Thursday Night Football. Basic soreness hopefully won’t be a concern, but the short week is still an issue. The TNF teams technically return to practice on Monday, although usually we get a simulated participation report. The most significant practice is Tuesday.
I would not be surprised to see Allen sit most of this week and still be able to play on Thursday. This will be something for fantasy football managers to track all week, including parsing Anthony Lynn’s press conferences closely.
