Thursday update: McCaffrey is officially doubtful to play on Saturday after not practicing, per Joe Person. Mike Davis will start again and is worth a start in your fantasy playoffs.

Tuesday PM update: Panthers coach Matt Rhule says that he doesn’t expect McCaffrey to play on Saturday, per Alaina Getzenberg. Mike Davis will once again get a chance to lead the way and his matchup vs. the Packers is a posittive one.

Tuesday update: McCaffrey was listed as limited on the Panthers walkthrough practice on Tuesday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. This is a good start, but we’ll need to see him get real work in on Wednesday before penciling him in this week.

The Carolina Panthers could finally get their star running back Christian McCaffrey back this week against the Green Bay Packers, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reports that it isn’t a given, but the hope is that he’ll return to practice on Tuesday and face the Packers on Saturday.

McCaffrey has now missed games for three separate injuries. First, he had an ankle injury, then he returned for one game, tacking on a shoulder injury, then he was set to return, but tweaked his calf muscle during practice. Many fans would rather see him sit out the rest of the season, but McCaffrey and coach Matt Rhule have no intention of resting if he is healthy enough to play.

If McCaffrey does play, he’ll get a great matchup with the Packers and a must start if you made the fantasy playoffs. The Packers have allowed the third-most PPR points to running backs this season and McCaffrey, when healthy, has dominated like usual.
