Miami Dolphins running back Matt Breida has been activated from the Covid-19 list and returned to practice, per ESPN’s Cameron Wolfe. The Dolphins are hurting at running back, so getting back some bodies is a good sign, as they also had Salvon Ahmed return to practice.
Breida has shown big play ability in the past, but so far in Miami he’s done very little, as the coaching staff prefers anyone not named Breida this season. In his limited work, he hasn’t done much to change their minds. So far, he has 47 rushing attempts for 168 yards and no touchdowns. That 3.6 yards per carry isn’t leaping off the page. He does have nine receptions for 96 yards and a good 10.7 yards per reception, but again, the workload has been awful.
The back Miami wants in there is Myles Gaskin, but he tested positive for Covid-19 and will be out again this wee. At the moment, that puts DeAndre Washington and Matt Breida as the healthy backs that will get touches against the Patriots in Week 15.
