After trying out his comedy routine on fantasy owners before last week’s game. Josh Jacobs did, in fact, play against the Indianapolis Colts. What might he accomplish on Thursday versus the Los Angeles Chargers?
Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders RB Josh Jacobs
Jacobs made it through Week 14, but it’s fair to wonder how much he’s being bothered by the ankle injury he suffered in Week 12. He 74 scrimmage yards on 16 touches versus Indy before sitting out basically the entire fourth quarter. He played 29 of a possible 68 snaps. Perhaps the Raiders were just taking it easy on their star back in what was a three-score game late. Jalen Richard took his place in those final stages and played 21 snaps. Devontae Booker was on the field for 19 snaps. Jacobs has been limited during this short practice week, so he should suit up Thursday. The last time these teams faced off, Jacobs ran 14 times for 65 yards and a score.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
If you have Jacobs, you probably don’t have much better options than him on your bench, even if he is operating at less than 100 percent and sharing some of the carries. He’s an RB2 at worst. The matchup isn’t very threatening. You still have to assume that Jacobs will get 15 touches at least, including a couple of catches and most of the goal-line work. There’s room for more as long as the Raiders don’t fall behind by multiple touchdowns. Jacobs costs $6,300 on DraftKings.
