Tale of the Tape for Gillian Robertson vs. Taila Santos

In a women’s flyweight matchup on the main card of UFC Fight Night 183, Gillian Robertson will take on Taila Santos Saturday in Las Vegas and available on ESPN+.

The 25-year-old Robertson heads into the octagon with a professional fighting record of 9-4 and ranked 13th at women’s flyweight. This is her third UFC fight in 2020 as she won two-straight matches. Robertson last fought in October at UFC Fight Night 180, where she defeated Poilana Botelho in Round 3 by unanimous decision.

Before that fight, she defeated Cortney Casey at UFC on ESPN 11 in August in Round 3 using a rear-naked choke. “The Savage” lands 2.39 strikes per minute with a 54 percent striking accuracy. She also absorbs 2.17 strikes per minute and defends them at 54 percent. As for grappling, Robertson has an impressive 3.25 takedown average per 15 minutes with 50 percent accuracy.

Santos comes into the APEX with a professional fighting record of 16-1. The 27-year-old from Brazil will be fighting in her second UFC fight this year and fourth overall. Santos was scheduled to fight at UFC Vegas 16, but the fight was canceled because a positive COVID-19 test within her opponent’s corner.

The last time we saw Santos fight was at UFC on ESPN 13 in July. At that event, she defeated Molly McCann in Round 3 by unanimous decision. In her short UFC career, Santos has produced 4.09 strikes landed per 15 minutes with 46 percent accuracy. But she absorbs more strikes than her opponent at 2.76 per minute and defends them at 60 percent.

As for grappling, she has a takedown average of 2.33 per 15 minutes, with an accuracy of 77 percent. Meanwhile, Santos’ takedown defense is at 83 percent and submission average is per 15 minutes is 1.0.
