The first conference title game of the weekend starts Friday night when the UAB Blazers take on the Marshall Thundering Herd in what will be a home game for Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia. Kick off is at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
Marshall finished with a 7-1 overall record including a 4-1 record in Conference USA play. The Thundering Herd’s only loss came in the last game of the season on Dec. 5 against the 2-3 Rice Owls by a score of 20-0. On the other side, UAB is 5-3 overall including 3-1 in conference play. The Blazers are appearing in their third consecutive conference championship game and went 1-1 in the Conference USA title the last two years. Marshall won the conference back in 2014, its last appearance in the game.
