Game day update: Chase Edmonds is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury. He is expected to play, but Ian Rapoport is reporting he could have a reduced role, depending on how he feels.
The Arizona Cardinals leaned on running back Kenyan Drake last week in a win over the New York Giants. Drake carried the ball 23 times for 80 yards and a touchdown, catching one pass for 10 more yards. Drake will once again be a pivotal part of Arizona’s game plan this week against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Meanwhile, Chase Edmonds has been limited in practice this week due to an ankle injury. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury described him as a game-time decision.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals RBs Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds
Drake’s been on a pretty good run lately (no pun intended.) Last week’s game was the fourth contest in a row where he’s found the end zone, and he now has nine touchdowns on the season. Despite some questions about sharing the load with Chase Edmonds earlier this season, the Cardinals have made Drake a clear No. 1 in their offense. In fact, Edmonds workload is small enough that you can ignore him in fantasy.
Even though the yardage totals allowed haven’t been much—only two running backs have topped the 100-yard mark this season—the Eagles have given up rushing scores to opposing running backs in every game but two this season so far. Those are good odds for Drake to score his 10th.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Drake. He’s a solid RB2 this week. Sit Chase Edmonds.
