Why I like the Steelers ATS on Wednesday vs. Ravens

The Steelers have a good shot to cover the spread against the Ravens on Wednesday as 10-point favorites.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to face off against the the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field on Wednesday to wrap up Week 12. The home team will look to remain the NFL’s lone undefeated team against a Ravens squad that’s been depleted by positive Covid-19 tests.

Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews, and Willie Snead have been ruled out for Baltimore after being placed on the Covid-19 list while Pittsburgh will be without James Conner. The Steelers are -435 on the moneyline and 10-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook.

ATS Pick: Steelers

Pittsburgh is favored by 10 points in this AFC North matchup and won by four points at M&T Bank Stadium earlier this year. I think home field advantage and the absence of Jackson could give the Steelers a few more points in this second meeting. The home teams is too well-rounded on defense to not win by a least a touchdown.

Baltimore is entering Wednesday as the team with the least passing yards in the NFL. The Steelers have given up the least rushing yards in the NFL. RG3 has completed just 56.5 percent of his passes since joining the Ravens, so I don’t expect the visitors to move the ball well through the air.

Pittsburgh has also forked up the fifth-fewest rushing yards in the NFL. While Baltimore did rush for 265 yards against the Steelers the last time these two teams met, Jackson accounted for 65 of those yards. The Ravens won’t be able to be as creative with the running game with Griffin under center, as he lacks Jackson’s otherworldly explosiveness.

The Steelers should be able to bottle up Baltimore’s offense and Roethlisberger should be able to pick apart the secondary with his abundance of talented receivers. It would be surprising to see the Ravens keep up on offense.
