Calvin Ridley trending up, while Julio Jones returns to practice in Week 13

Friday AM update: Jones will be at practice so the coaches can “see what he can do,” per Tori McElhaney. Given his downgrade to DNP on Thursday, this will be important to track for his game status.

Thursday update: Julio Jones was downgraded to DNP on Thursday due to his hamstring injury. This is not a good trend for Jones as he looks to get back in Week 13. The Falcons have one more practice on Friday.

Atlanta Falcons wide receivers Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley will both practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday, according to Will McFadden of AtlantaFalcons.com. Head coach Raheem Morris said that Jones is day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Ridley, who is a dealing with a foot injury, should get a normal rep. count.

Jones missed last week’s game game against the Las Vegas Raiders, after he reportedly aggravated his hamstring the week prior against the New Orleans Saints. This season, the All-Pro wideout has 45 receptions for 677 yards and three touchdown. Meanwhile, Ridley twisted his ankle in third quarter against the Raiders, but returned a couple of plays later. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver finished last week’s contest with six receptions (nine targets) for 50 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons can ill-afford to not have either or both wide receivers for Sunday’s game as they are already down Olamide Zaccheaus, who was placed on injured reserve with a toe injury. Former first-round pick Laquon Treadwell was activate from the practice squad to take his place.
