The Buccaneers held the Vikings to just 14 total points, defeating the NFC North side by 12 in Week 14. While the Minnesota wide receivers struggled to garner much production, the tight ends performed better than expected. Will we see a similar outcome in Week 15’s divisional face-off with the Bears?
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings TEs Irv Smith Jr.
In a very rare situation, Kyle Rudolph missed last week’s game due to injury, which opened the door for Irv Smith. The 22-year-old tight end has shown promise this season, but he was able to put together his best performance to date with four receptions, 63 yards, and one touchdown (Kirk Cousins’ sole passing TD).
Rudolph has again been ruled out for Sunday’s game, which means Smith gets a juicy matchup against a Chicago defense that’s allowing the fifth-most DKFP per game to opposing tight ends. It’s worth noting that Minnesota’s TE3, Tyler Conklin, led the team in catches (five) against the Bucs. Conklin could be a thorn in the sides of fantasy managers hoping for a big game from Smith.
