Heading into this season, Zach Ertz was looked at as the Philadelphia Eagles’ best tight end. But due to injuries and overall production, third-year tight Dallas Goedert has surpassed Ertz as the best tight end in 2020. That being said, which tight end should you start on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals? Let’s discuss it below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles TEs Dallas Goedert, Zach Ertz

After missing the last seven weeks because of an injury, Zach Ertz finally made his return to the football in Week 13. Against the Green Bay Packers, Ertz had two receptions (four receptions) for 31 yards.

Then he followed up that outing in Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints with a modest two receptions (four targets) for eight yards. The veteran tight end should’ve had three catches, but the refs didn't believe he had both feet in bounds. Nevertheless, it’s been hard to trust Ertz in fantasy football this season.

However, his teammate, Dallas Goedert has been playing or slotted as a weekly top-10 tight end fantasy option. Last week against the Saints, Goedert had four receptions (six targets) for 43 yards. Furthermore, in the Eagles’ last three games, the former second-round pick has 16 receptions (23 targets) for 184 yards and a touchdown.

Between the two, Goedert is the better play, despite facing a Cardinals’ defense that has only allowed three touchdowns to opposing touchdowns. However, Goedert is Philly’s second-best offensive weapon, meaning he will get a ton of targets his way.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start — Dallas Goedert
