With star running back Joe Mixon still out, it’s been hard to trust any Cincinnati Bengals running back in fantasy football. Giovani Bernard was supposed to be a solid FLEX play for many fantasy football managers, but that hasn’t panned out thus far.
Can Bernard, Trayveon Williams, or Samaje Perine bring any value in Week 15? Let’s discuss it below!
Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals RBs Trayveon Williams, Samaje Perine, Giovani Bernard
Last week against the Dallas Cowboys, Trayveon Williams ended up getting most of the carries and was the team’s leading rusher in their 30-7 loss. Williams had 49 yards on 12 carries, which were both season-highs for him. He also recorded three receptions for 14 yards.
Meanwhile, veteran power back Samaje Perine was right behind Williams with 32 yards on 10 carries. Perine played a role in the passing game too with two receptions for nine yards.
Lastly, Bernard surprisingly finished with three carries for eight yards, which is one less carry than starting quarterback Brandon Allen. He led all running backs with three receptions for 15 yards. With all that being said, none of these running backs were impressive and will likely struggle against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
This season, the Steelers’ defense is only allowing 13.7 fantasy points per game and seven touchdowns to opposing running backs. And they are giving up 4.2 yards per carry, which is good for 11th in the league.
