Unlike the Cincinnati Bengals running backs, the wide receivers actually have some type of value in fantasy football, despite no Joe Burrow under center. Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins have been the team’s best wide receiver and nice WR2/WR3 play this season. Should you start one of them against the Steelers on Monday night football? Let’s discuss it below!
Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals WRs Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, A.J. Green
In Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys, veteran wide receiver A.J. Green had the Bengals’ lone touchdown. Shockingly, he was also the game’s leading receiver with six receptions (seven targets) for 62 yards. It was Green’s best performance in a few weeks as he had four targets and zero receptions in the previous two games.
Higgins, the rookie out of Clemson, finished as the second-leading receiver for Bengals. He had five receptions (eight targets) for 49 yards. In the Bengals’ last three games, Higgins is averaging five receptions per game. With a lot of attention being likely paid to Tyler Boyd, Higgins could be a nice WR3/FLEX play, if you do not have any other options.
Earlier this season against the Steelers, Higgins posted 15.5 fantasy points, which consisted of seven receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown. Lastly, we cannot forget about Boyd, who is the team’s best wide receiver. Against the Cowboys, he only had five receptions (nine targets) for 43 yards.
Boyd has struggled over the last three games with nine receptions on 19 targets. But he might be able to snap out of his slump against a Steelers’ defense that has allowed four receiving touchdowns in the past five games.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start — Tyler Boyd as a WR3
Start — Tee Higgins as a FLEX
Sit — A.J. Green
