After being out of football last season, Jordan Reed made his triumphant return this season with the San Francisco 49ers. The veteran tight end hasn’t had any huge performances but has scored three touchdowns. What can we expect from him on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys? Let’s discuss it below.
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers TE Jordan Reed
Last week against the Washington Football Team, tight end Jordan Reed had a pedestrian two receptions (five targets) for 13 yards. It was shockingly in line with all his other outings this season. The previous week against the Buffalo Bills, Reed recorded three receptions (four targets) for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Unlike other tight ends who are must starts or a worthwhile streaming option, Reed’s value is solely depending on if he scores a touchdown. Could he find the end zone on Sunday? It’s a possibility as it seems like second-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel will be out with an injury.
Therefore, the Niners will need someone else to step up to help out rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk in the receiving department. This season, the Cowboys’ defense has allowed six touchdowns to opposing tight ends, but haven’t allowed any in the last two weeks.
