The Indianapolis Colts offense is getting hot at precisely the right time. And despite an underwhelming level of production earlier this season, quarterback Philip Rivers has become a useful option in fantasy lineups lately as well. This week against the Texans, he looks like a solid mid-tier starter.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts QB Philip Rivers
Rivers threw two touchdowns and 244 yards last week against the Raiders. That was his fourth game in a row with multiple touchdown throws, which is especially notable given that the team has taken to using Jacoby Brissett occasionally in goal-line situations. Rivers has two touchdowns and 285 against the Texans back in Week 13. He missed some practice time this week, but that’s looking like a tactic to get the veteran some rest as the Colts head into the playoffs.
Houston’s defense has given up five passing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks over the last two weeks. Rivers has a good chance to repeat his numbers from the last time he played this team, making him a solid starter this week.
