Ever since the New York Jets moved on from Le’Veon Bell earlier this season, they have given numerous opportunities to the ageless wonder in Frank Gore. Gore has had his moments this season in Adam Gase’s system, along with Ty Johnson and Josh Adams recently. That being said, which running back should you possibly start this week?
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets RBs Frank Gore, Ty Johnson, Josh Adams
A couple of weeks ago against the woeful Las Vegas Raiders’ defense, Ty Johnson and Josh Adams had career performances. Johnson, the former Detroit Lions running back, recorded 104 rushing yards on 22 carries and a touchdown. He also scored 17.7 fantasy points, which is something a Jets running back hasn’t done this season.
Meanwhile, in that same game, Josh Adams pitched in with 74 rushing on eight carries and 7.4 fantasy points. However, both running backs came back down to earth last week against the Seattle Seahawks.
Last week against the Seahawks, Frank Gore had 23 rushing yards on eight carries, after only one carry versus Las Vegas. Johnson produced 16 rushing yards on eight carries, while Adams was the team’s leading rusher with 27 yards on six carries.
Therefore, should you trust any of these running backs against one of the best defensive lines in the Rams? The answer is no.
