The Washington Football Team will need to lean on J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber with second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins set to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Fantasy Football analysis: Washington RBs J.D. McKissic, Peyton Barber

The Washington Football Team will likely have to piece-meal their running back situation without standout rookie Antonio Gibson for the foreseeable future. This is not ideal for fantasy football managers as Gibson was a reliable RB2 play in the second half of the season.

Without Gibson, J.D. McKissic is the only running back that has fantasy football value in the playoffs. Last week, McKissic outperformed Peyton Barber, whose status is unclear for Sunday’s game because of an ankle injury.

The versatile McKissic had a season-high 68 yards on 11 carries, along with two receptions (four targets) for 18 yards. Before Week 14, the most rushing yards the 27-year-old running back produced was 53 yards on eight carries in Week 2. Despite not playing a strong role in the passing game, McKissic still posted 8.6 fantasy points, which is consistent for a FLEX play.

On the other end of the spectrum, Barber had 37 rushing on 12 carries in last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. In the previous week, he produced 23 rushing yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. This week, Washington’s running game will be facing a Seahawks’ defense that has given up 11 rushing and three receiving touchdowns to opposing running backs this season.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start — J.D. McKissic as a FLEX
