At 8-5, the Miami Dolphins enter the final stretch of the regular season with a clear path to the playoffs. That path involves multiple challenges from their division, including Sunday’s matchup with the disappointing but still dangerous New England Patriots.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki

It remains somewhat unclear whether Mike Gesicki will suit up for Sunday’s game against the Patriots. The tight end suffered a shoulder injury last week and only participated on a limited basis in practice Thursday and Friday. Head coach Brian Flores didn’t offer any assurances about Gesicki’s availability, saying instead that the shoulder injury could require offseason surgery.

If Gesicki plays, the Dolphins could understandably limit his workload in order to prevent further damage and preserve him for a potential postseason run. Still, given Gesicki’s top-shelf athleticism and play-making skills, he doesn’t require many touches to make a meaningful impact for fantasy purposes.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

If Gesicki plays, start him as a low-end TE1.
