Week 15 of the NFL regular season kicked off on Thursday night with an AFC West battle between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers. After that exciting overtime in which the Chargers, we got two Saturday games, featuring two of the best teams in the NFL in the Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills.
As we head into another NFL Sunday, we are going to highlight three games, looking at the spread, money line, or point total, and seeing if the bettors are on the right track or not.
1. Chicago Bears (+167) vs. Minnesota Vikings
Since the Bears put quarterback Mitchell Trubisky back into the starting lineup and let running back David Montgomery run the football, Chicago has started to play better. But that didn't equal out to wins until last week when they defeated the Houston Texans to snap their six-game winning streak.
That being said, the Bears are surprisingly receiving big 82% of the action on the moneyline and 63% of the bets against the Minnesota Vikings, who beat them 19-13 earlier this season. When you take a look at that the spread, the Vikings are favorited by three points. But most the bets and action are siding with the underdog Bears. Honestly, it’s hard to trust Chicago as a ML pick due to their 1-6 record straight up.
2. New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins (-1)
Despite the Miami Dolphins being the better team on paper, this game is a toss-up/pick’em between the two AFC East rivals. The Patriots are coming off a disappointing 24-3 last week to the Los Angeles Rams. Then to make matters worst, New England will be without starting running back Damien Harris.
When you hear those two things and knowing how inept the Pats’ offense is, it should be a no-brainer to pick the Dolphins. But not so fast, Miami is banged up offense too as starting tight end Mike Gesicki and running back Salvon Ahmed are both questionable with injuries.
That being said, if one or neither player can go, then that hinders Miami’s offense a ton with rookie Tua Tagovailoa under center. Also, let’s not forget what Bill Belicheck did a couple of weeks ago to rookie Justin Herbert. As of right now, the Dolphins are receiving 86% of the bets and 85% of the handle.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (+6) vs. Arizona Cardinals
After upsetting one of the hottest teams in the NFL last week, the Philadelphia Eagles are receiving a good deal of action heading into Sunday’s Week 15 game versus the Cardinals. The Eagles are getting 63% of the bets and 54% of the action.
This comes as a surprise because Philadelphia is going to be without three starting members of their secondary. Without Darius Slay defending or shadowing DeAndre Hopkins, it’s going to be a long day for Philly’s secondary. I guess bettors are riding the wave of the Eagles’ offensive explosion led by rookie Jalen hurts and believe he can keep this game close.
Regardless, it should be a fun game to watch between two former Oklahoma Sooner quarterbacks.
