The Oregon Ducks and Iowa State Cyclones will face off in the 2021 Playstation Fiesta Bowl. The game will take place at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 2. The game will air on ESPN and will be available via live stream at WatchESPN.

The Oregon Ducks (4-2) won their second-straight Pac-12 championship as they defeated the USC Trojans 31-24 on Friday night. The Ducks replaced the Washington Huskies, who dropped out due to not having enough players because of COVID-19 protocols. Oregon’s offense did not do anything special as they their quarterbacks Tyler Shough and Anthony Brown only had 108 passing yards. But together they threw four touchdown passes and an interception. Defensively, the Ducks’ defense made life tough for Trojans quarterback Kedon Slovis, who was 28-of-52 for 320 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. They also held USC to only 38 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown.

The Iowa State Cyclones (8-3) lost 28-21 against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Big 12 Championship game on Saturday afternoon. The Cyclones fought back from a double-digit comeback, thanks to the play of running back Breece Hall, who had 79 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown. Hall has produced 1,436 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. However, what hurt the Cyclones’ chances was the play of quarterback Brock Purdy, who was 27-of-40 for 322 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.

This is the team that shouldn’t have played for a conference championship in the worst league but did so anyway against a team that finished second in the second-worst league. But it’s still high-level college football, and we’ll for sure be watching.
