The Oklahoma Sooners and Florida Gators will face off in the 2020 Cotton Bowl. The game will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on December 30. The game will air on ESPN and will be available via live stream at WatchESPN.
The Oklahoma Sooners (8-2) defeated the Iowa State Cyclones 28-21 for the Big 12 Championship on Saturday. The AP 10th-ranked Sooners finished fifth in the College Football Playoff rankings after a rough start to the season. Quarterback Spencer Rattler improved as the season went on and was very good against Iowa State, completing 22-of-34 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown. This season he has 2,784 passing yards, 25 touchdowns and seven touchdowns. But the bigger story to come out of the Big 12 title game was the Sooners’ defense, which forced three interceptions on Cyclones quarterback Brock Purdy.
The Florida Gators (8-3) suffered their second-straight loss, losing 52-46 to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game on Saturday night. Gators quarterback Kyle Trask had a tremendous performance, completing 26-of-40 passes for 408 yards and three touchdowns.
One of his touchdown passes went to wide receiver Kadarius Toney, which were a part of his eight receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown. As for Florida’s defense, they did not have an answer for Tide running back Najee Harris, who produced five total touchdowns. Additionally, Mac Jones was 33-of-43 for 418 yards, five touchdowns, and an interceptions. Star tight end Kyle Pitts has already opted out of this game and will head to the NFL Draft.
