The Texas Longhorns and Colorado Buffaloes will face off in the 2020 Alamo Bowl. The game will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET on December 29th with the game airing on ESPN, and will be available via live stream at WatchESPN.
The 20th-ranked Texas Longhorns (6-3) is coming into the postseason off of a 69-31 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats. In that game, both quarterback Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns’ running backs had phenomenal performances. Ehlinger was 20-of-27 for 274 yards and two touchdowns. This season, the senior quarterback has 2,406 yards, 25 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Running backs Bijan Robinson had 172 yards on nine carries and three touchdowns, while Roschon Johnson added 139 yards on 14 carries and three touchdowns.
The Colorado Buffaloes (4-1) were one of the surprise teams in college football and in the Pac-12. The Buffs had a shot at winning the Pac-12 South Division, but lost to the Utah Utes 38-21 on December 12, and had their game against the USC Trojans canceled by Covid-19. The player to watch is dynamic running back Jarek Broussard. This season, Broussard has 813 yards on 129 yards and three touchdowns. While the low numbers of touchdowns may be unappealing, Broussard does have a 301 rushing yard game under his belt this season. The Longhorns’ defense main objective will be to keep Broussard in front of them and contained.
