The Dallas Cowboys beat the San Francisco 49ers 41-33, but the final score does not show us just how crazy the finish was. The 49ers cut the lead to a touchdown, but were left to rely on an onside kick in the final minute. The game seemed just about over with 34 seconds left.
14 points later, the game finally ended.
Robbie Gould kicked the onside kick and CeeDee Lamb was in with the hands team. Lamb caught the ball on the bounce and then proceeded to find a crease. 47 yards later, Lamb had a touchdown.
The 49ers got the ball back and went into a hurry-up to at least try and get one more score. C.J. Beathard found Brandon Aiyuk for 26 yards. Following an incompletion, Beathard dropped back and chucked it for the end zone. Kendrick Bourne went up and grabbed the ball for the final score of the game. The 49ers still lost, but a Hail Mary is always a fun one when successful.
Lamb is rostered in 73 percent of ESPN leagues and was in the starting lineup for 18.7 percent of teams. Bourne is rostered in only 2.1 percent of teams and was in the starting lineup of 0.3 percent of teams. This was not a huge impact, but one has to wonder if a handful of fantasy playoffs were swung by these two garbage time scores.
