On Wednesday the 5-4 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs head down to NOLA to take on the 7-5 Georgia Southern Eagles.
These two teams are built very differently offensively. La Tech is a pass-heavy team, throwing for close to 230 yards per game and more than two-thirds of their offense, while Georgia Southern runs for nearly 275 on the ground each week for two-thirds of their total yards. Luckily for the Bulldogs, run-stopping is the stronger facet of their defensive game allowing just 184 yards per game. The Eagles don’t throw the ball very much with a sub-100 yards per game on average, so Skip Holtz and his crew should be able to know what’s coming so they can prepare for it.
Georgia Southern’s defense has been much better than Tech’s this season. The team from Statesboro is giving up only 22 points per game this season and limiting teams to just over 300 total yards per game. The Bulldogs have struggled, allowing more than 34 points each week, so it could get ugly for them.

The Best Bet
This one is easy: Georgia Southern is just the better team overall, and shouldn’t have too many issues dispatching a bad LTU defense.
