How they got here
Oklahoma State had some decent hype going into the season as potential Big 12 champs, but failed to reach the title game. The Cowboys finished 7-3 overall including 6-3 in conference play for third place. Oklahoma State started 4-0 before losing three of its next five games to fall out of contention. Miami received a much-needed boost at quarterback with D’Eriq King transferring from Houston. The Hurricanes started their season at 8-1 with their lone loss coming to Clemson before they were destroyed 62-26 against North Carolina at home to close out the year.
