Tom Herman survived his latest Urban Meyer scare and appears to be the Texas Longhorns head coach heading into 2021. But before that, the 2020 Texas season will end in the Alamo Bowl against the Colorado Buffaloes on Tuesday, Dec. 29. The game will kick off at 9 p.m. ET from San Antonio, Texas, and can be seen on ESPN as well as the WatchESPN app.

How they got here
Texas had a largely uninspiring season in 2020, finishing with a 6-3 overall record including 5-3 in Big 12 play, fourth in the Big 12. The Longhorns lofty goals were squashed after losing two straight to TCU and Oklahoma in October. Since then UT has won four of their last five before their season finale against Kansas was canceled. As for Colorado it was a successful first season for head coach Karl Dorrell. In a limited slate, the Buffaloes started 4-0 before losing their season finale to Utah. Still it was an impressive year, especially with Dorrell being hired so late in the coaching carousel cycle thanks to previous coach Mel Tucker leaving.
