How they got here
Oregon finished its regular season with a 3-2 record and didn’t even win its own division. The Ducks stepped in for Washington in the Pac-12 title game because the Huskies were going through a coronavirus outbreak. Oregon beat USC in the conference championship game to earn this slot.
As for Iowa State, the Cyclones lost three games this season including a 17-point home loss to Louisiana to begin the year. Iowa State finished 8-3 overall this season and fell short against Oklahoma 27-21 in the Big 12 title game.
