How they got here
Army is not in a conference, but it was able to pull off an 11-game schedule to finish with a 9-2 overall record. The Black Knights’ only two losses came on the road against the Cincinnati Bearcats and Tulane Green Wave.
As for West Virginia, it has less than two weeks to prepare for the triple-option offense, so we’ll see how the Mountaineers handle it. They finished 5-4 in the regular season including 4-4 in Big 12 play. West Virginia’s longest winning streak was two games, and it never lost in back-to-back games. The Mountaineers were crushed by 36 points against Iowa State in their season finale on Dec. 5.
