Pick against the spread, best player prop for Bucks vs. Celtics on Wednesday

We take a look at some lines and quality prop bet options for Wednesday’s Bucks-Celtics game.

The Milwaukee Bucks fell short of the NBA Finals when they were eliminated by the Miami Heat in the second round of last year’s playoffs and will get to start their road to redemption on Wednesday in their season opener against the Boston Celtics in TD Garden.

Milwaukee is favored by a narrow margin despite Boston not being at full strength. Let’s take a look at some favorable lines and prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Milwaukee Bucks @ Boston Celtics, 7:30 p.m. ET NBC Sports

ATS Pick: Bucks -3.5

Milwaukee has three players that can defend at an All-NBA now that Jrue Holiday has joined the team. He should step right in as the Bucks’ third option on offense, behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Boston has firepower with the departure of Gordon Hayward and also won’t have Kemba Walker, who is still recovering from a knee procedure.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Green are plenty good but I don’t think they’ll be enough to take down a Milwaukee team that’s finished as the top team in the Eastern Conference for two straight seasons. Jeff Teague is not a suitable fill-in for an All-Star like Walker, so I expect the Bucks to run away with this game.

Player Prop: Jrue Holiday O5.5 Assists (+110)

The Bucks have already ruled out DJ Augustin for tonight’s opener. So Holiday should see most of the run at PG if the game remains competitive. I’d like to think the Celtics will remain within striking distance and not just roll over if Milwaukee takes the lead. Holiday has averaged over 5.5 assists in eight straight seasons. Last season, he averaged almost 7 assists per game sharing a backcourt with Lonzo Ball. I think Holiday will find it easy getting dimes feeding Giannis all night. Getting juice on this number seems too good to pass up.
