Friday update: The coaching staff made it official on Friday, listing McCaffrey as doubtful for Sunday’s game against Washington.

Wednesday update: Coach Matt Rhule says that McCaffrey is doubtful to play against Washington this week, per Ian Rapoport. Mike Davis will take his spot once again.

Star running back Christian McCaffrey was among the multiple Carolina Panthers players not practicing on Wednesday, per Joe Pearson of The Athletic. McCaffrey has not played since Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs because of an AC shoulder joint and thigh injuries.

Last week, McCaffrey was ruled out against the Green Bay Packers, which led to Mike Davis getting the start in the backfield. Davis recorded 59 rushing yards on 14 carries. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule reportedly hoped that McCaffrey would be able to play on Sunday against the Washington Football Team, but it looks unlikely as of right now.

The 24-year-old running back has only played in three games this season. In those contests, McCaffrey has 225 yards on 59 carries and five touchdowns. He also has 17 receptions (19 targets) for 149 yards and a touchdown. With all that being said, it will be interesting to see if McCaffrey practices either Thursday or Friday.
