Daniel Jones getting first-team reps, on track to play in Week 16

The Giants look to get their QB1 back this week against the Ravens

Thursday update: Jones was back at practice on Thursday and head coach Joe Judge told the media, “We came out of [Wednesday’s] practice feeling like we were on the right track.”

The New York Giants could get their quarterback Daniel Jones back this week as the team faces a huge matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. On Wednesday, he was seen getting first team reps at practice, per The Athletic’s Dan Duggan. Duggan went on to say that Jones looked much better than when he did the last time he tried to play through ankle and hamstring injuries.

The Giants still have a shot at the NFC East title, albeit a small one. But, that should be enough to push Jones into starting as long as he’s able. Jones hasn’t been great by any measure this season, but Colt McCoy has been even worse.

The question for Jones is if he can run or not. His ability is tied closely to his ability to escape pressure and against Seattle two weeks ago, he couldn’t. With the positive practice report, I think Jones will at least try out his mobility more this week against the Ravens.
