Jamaal Williams listed as doubtful for Week 16

The Packers could be without their all-purpose backup running back for Week 16.

Friday update: The Packers are listing Jamaal Williams as doubtful for Sunday’s game.

Thursday update: Williams is still not practicing on Thursday, per Olivia Reiner.

Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams left last week’s game with a quad injury and has missed the first two practices of the week. The Packers host the Tennessee Titans for Sunday Night Football, so there is still time for him to get back to practice and play, but this isn’t a promising start.

If Williams can’t go, Aaron Jones would get a nice boost in a good matchup with a weak Titans defense. We would likely see more A.J. Dillon, but the coaching staff likely trusts Jones much more than Dillon at this point.

Jones and Williams have split work more than Jones’ fantasy backers would like. Williams has 114 rushing attempts to Jones’ 180 and 31 receptions to Jones’ 41. Jones has been the much better back statistically, averaging 5.4 yards per carry to Williams’ 4.2 and has scored 10 touchdowns to Williams’ three. If Williams can’t go, Jones becomes a no-doubt, top fantasy start.
