The biggest surprise leading up to last week’s games had to be that the Detroit Lions would in fact have quarterback Matthew Stafford in the lineup and ready to go. He suffered a rib injury that knocked him out of their Week 14 game, and it wasn’t looking as if he’d be ready for last week’s tilt against the Titans. But he was. Whether or not he was healthy enough to produce is another question entirely. He’s got an even tougher matchup this week against the Buccaneers.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Matthew Stafford
Stafford had 252 yards in a touchdown in the loss to Tennessee last Sunday. His line was nearly identical to what he did the week before against the Packers. It’s a short week for the Lions, who play on Saturday, and because of a pair of positive COVID tests, the team was working remotely to start the week.
The Bucs have given up some decent games to opposing quarterbacks recently, but those were, typically, better teams, healthier too. The Lions might not have their No. 1 receiver Kenny Golladay again this week. It’s best to avoid Stafford in fantasy.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Matthew Stafford.
