If you’re rolling with the Buccaneers backfield in your fantasy league’s championship game, you could not have picked a better week to do it. Tampa Bay faces off against the Detroit Lions this week, giving them a good shot at racking up some easy fantasy points. But there’s really only one name here you need to be concerned with for this week’s game.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs RBs Leonard Fournette, LeSean McCoy, Ke’Shawn Vaughn
This is Fournette’s backfield, at least with Ronald Jones on the COVID/reserve list and unlikely to return in time for Saturday’s game. Last week against the Falcons, Fournette carried the ball 14 times for 49 yards. It’s an underwhelming stat line until you consider that the Bucs trailed big in the first half, and that Fournette scored twice on the ground. He also caught three passes on five targets for 16 yards.
McCoy didn’t have any carries, but he turned three receptions into 32 yards. Vaughn had four yards on two carries. You can leave those to out of the mix this week.
The Lions gave up two touchdowns to the Titans running backs last week, a Derrick Henry rushing score and a receiving touchdown to Darrynton Evans. They’ve given up 25 total touchdowns to opposing running backs this season.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Leonard Fournette at RB1 this week. Sit the other two.
