The No. 19 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns didn’t get a chance to play for a Sun Belt title due to Covid-19, and their only chance to win a postseason game is today against the UT-San Antonio Roadrunners in the First Responder Bowl on the campus of Southern Methodist University today at 3:30 p.m.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point Spread

Right now the Cajuns are 14-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with 66% of the cash and 64% of the bets on Louisiana.

Is the public right?

14 is a lot of points for a UTSA team which averaged 5.7 yards per play this season, and has an effective dual threat quarterback in Frank Harris. With a bit of disappointment hanging over them from the end of the regular season might be tough to get up for this one.

But betting against Billy Napier’s ability to motivate his team can also not be a great idea as well, especially since he turned down more P5 jobs again this offseason like Auburn.

This line sounds just about perfect to us, but we’ll take UTSA if forced to choose.

Over/Under

Right now the total is 55 points, with 32% of the handle but 67% of the bets on the over.

Is the public right?

It’s a bowl game, here come all the stops. The sharp side is clearly the under, but we think the wagering community is forgetting to factor in that here come all the trick plays and craziness you can pack into 60 minutes today. These are two creative coaching staffs that can draw it up the in dirt as well. We’ll go over with eyes open that by the math it’s likely the wrong play.

Moneyline

Louisiana is -625, and getting 89% of the handle and 88% of the bets. That makes UTSA a +390 underdog.

Is the public right? For sure. Louisiana might play it close, but they’re never losing this game. Moneyline is a gift as long as Levi Lewis makes it in the stadium.

First Responder Bowl: Louisiana vs. UTSA

Opening line: Louisiana -13
Current line: Louisiana -14

The number is good here, and ULL is never losing this one. If it drifts back below 14, we’ll grab the Cajuns. If it heads over, we like UTSA. It’s a very efficient spread today in Dallas.
