Game status: Robinson is INACTIVE for Week 16.
UPDATE: The Jaguars have decided James Robinson will not play on Sunday, per Ian Rapoport. Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo will compete for snaps in place of Robinson.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a difficult situation with running back James Robinson, one that’s sure to frustrate fantasy owners as well. Robinson is dealing with an ankle injury that forced him out of last week’s game against the Ravens. He is officially listed as questionable for this week’s matchup against the Chicago Bears, and we might not know his status until closer to game time.
Fantasy impact: James Robinson (ankle)
Robinson was held out of practice all week in order to rest him and let him recover from the injury. Head coach Doug Marrone said earlier in the week that he was hopeful that Robinson could play, and Robinson himself said that he plans to play. However, that’s still a few yards shy of actual confirmation.
If Robinson can’t go, Dare Ogunbowale and Devine Ozigbo would be next in line for backfield duties. Last week after Robinson left, Ogunbowale saw some snaps, and might be worth a flyer this week as a low-end RB3 or flex option. Though it’s not clear how the team would divide the workload between those two players if Robinson can’t suit up.
