The Atlanta Falcons stunned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week... for one half. But it was still one of quarterback Matt Ryan’s most productive games in a long time. He finished with 356 passing yards and three touchdowns, his first multi-touchdown game since Week 12 and the first time he’s thrown for more than 300 yards since Week 7. So can Ryan deliver a repeat performance this week against the Chiefs to reward patient fantasy owners in the championships?
Fantasy Football analysis: Falcons QB Matt Ryan
One of the most notable things about Ryan’s play last week is that he did it without Julio Jones. Usually, when Jones has been out of the lineup this season, Ryan has struggled. And there’s no guarantee he’ll have Jones back in action this week either.
The Chiefs defense hasn’t kept pace with Kansas City’s offense, and they haven’t really had to. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown multiple touchdowns against them in each of their last six games. They’ve also got seven interceptions in that span.
It’s probably best to hedge on Ryan a bit this week. The Falcons will most certainly be chasing points against the Chiefs, so he’ll be throwing a lot. The ceiling’s high; you just have to ask yourself how much you trust him.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Matt Ryan.
