Game status: Harris is INACTIVE for Week 16.
Damien Harris didn’t play last week due to an ankle injury after getting in a limited practice. This week he couldn’t do more than limited practices, but is questionable and has a Monday night game, giving him a little more time to rest that ankle.
If Harris does play, he’ll likely share work with Sony Michel, who is fully back and looked good last week. The Patriots running game is effective, as seen by Michel and Harris both being able to put up good efficiency numbers, but it is also slowed down by the passing game not providing much help.
Fantasy Football analysis: Patriots RBs Sony Michel, Damien Harris, James White
The Patriots matchup with the Bills isn’t bad, as Buffalo allows 4.54 yards per rush and the eighth-most rushing yards. In their first matchup, Harris had a strong game with 16 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. But we’ve got a different situation this time around.
If Harris does play, Bill Belichick could split his work with Michel, making both poor plays against a team that could get a sizable lead on the Patriots this week, putting a damper on rushing attempts.
If Harris sits, Michel becomes an okay start, but could still be in a tough game-script with no receiving upside. Plus, he is in a Monday night game, and we likely won’t know if Harris is playing or not until then.
James White just hasn’t been getting the usage to feel comfortable playing him, especially in the fantasy championships.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Sit Sony Michel, James White and Damien Harris.
