What to do with Philip Rivers in Week 16 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Phillip Rivers ahead of the Colts Week 16 matchup against the Steelers.

The Colts defeated the Texans for the second time in three weeks, winning 27-20. Philip Rivers could clinch a playoff spot with his new team in Week 16, so there is plenty of motivation. But will the motivation be enough to make Rivers a viable fantasy option against one of the league’s best defenses?

Fantasy Football analysis: Colts QB Phillip Rivers

Despite finishing with his third consecutive game throwing two touchdowns and zero interceptions, Rivers finished last week’s contest with a measly 17.02 DKFP. He has only surpassed the 20-DKFP-marker in three games this season, and this week’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers shouldn’t be his fourth. The Steelers defense is allowing the league’s second-fewest DKFP to opposing quarterbacks (15.8 per game). Fresh off a three-game losing skid, Pittsburgh will also be highly motivated to turn their recent form around and pick up a win. In any case, it will be a difficult spot for Rivers to do anything more than his normal sub-20 DKFP output.
