David Johnson had Houston’s backfield all to himself last week against the Colts. Duke Johnson was out with a neck injury that’s again threatening his availability for this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s an attractive matchup for Johnson’s fantasy football outlook, but there are some circumstances you need to be aware of before plugging him into the RB2 spot in your lineup.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans RBs David Johnson, Duke Johnson
David Johnson didn’t do much on the ground last week, carrying the ball just eight times for 27 yards. He did put up some points in the passing game, catching 11 passes for 106 yards, enough to make his fantasy day a salvageable one.
Duke Johnson missed practice again on Wednesday, putting his status for this week’s game in serious doubt. Without Duke, the Texans gave C.J. Prosise three touches last week. Needless to say, David Johnson’s value gets a boost without Duke in uniform on Sunday.
The Bengals defense is allowing nearly five yards per carry to opposing running backs.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
David Johnson is a decent RB2 this week, even if Duke somehow winds up playing. Leave Duke Johnson out of your lineup if he does play.
