Donald Parham will likely get the start at tight end for the Chargers this week, as their normal starter Hunter Henry is out due to Covid-19. The ex-XFLer has shown an affinity for the end zone when given a chance this season, with two touchdowns on five receptions.
Parham is a physical specimen at 6’8, 243 lbs., with 4.6 speed. There is a lot of upside for big plays, as Parham is a field stretcher, but it is likely risky to expect a high fantasy floor for the UDFA and XFLer.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers TE Donald Parham
The Chargers match up with the Denver Broncos, who are hurting in their secondary. The Chargers are also hurting, with Keenan Allen not 100 percent, which could push some more targets Parham’s way. Though, Parham could share time with Gabe Nabers enough to hurt his targets a bit.
Parham is a real fantasy wild card this week. I’m enamored with his upside, but a big fat zero fantasy points is also in the cards. Parham feels like the ultimate play if your team is severely outmanned in your fantasy championship and you are rolling with a less than spectacular tight end play, but for most teams, I’m not taking the risk.
