What to do with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams in Week 16 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams ahead of the Chargers Week 16 matchup against the Broncos.

Starting Keenan Allen as long as he is suited up in active is usually a good idea, but last week it wasn’t. Allen came into the game with reports that he would be on a snap count and those reports proved to be true, as he caught just one pass on three targets for 17 yards.

This week, Allen got in a limited practice on Friday and is considered questionable. It’s a tough situation, but with Hunter Henry out, Allen sure would see a lot of targets if he can stay on the field.

As for Mike Williams, he has also been dealing with injuries, but even when healthy, his target numbers are erratic as the team’s deep threat. Henry’s absence could help though.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers WRs Keenan Allen, Mike Williams

The Chargers face a Seattle defense that has gotten better as the season has gone on, but they were so bad early on that they are still below average now. If Allen weren’t nursing a hamstring injury, he’s be a no-doubt start with high-end fantasy upside. As it is, he’s much riskier, but still hard to sit if active.

Williams is a wild card, but a wild card that is set up better than usual this week. The matchup is good while he should see more work with Henry out. Add in that he wasn’t listed on the injury report once this week, and he could be at his healthiest in a while.

If reports of Allen’s playing time show that he might be limited, Williams becomes a stronger start, but even if Allen plays, I like Williams as a high-upside play if your championship team is a big underdog.
