How Packers can clinch home field advantage in Week 17

The Green Bay Packers are headed to the 2021 NFL playoffs as NFC North champions, but they have one more thing to play for as Week 17 approaches. The Packers are 12-3 coming out of Week 16 and can clinch the No. 1 seed and home field advantage in the NFC in the regular season finale.

If the Packers beat or tie the Bears in Chicago or the Seahawks lose or tie at San Francisco, Green Bay secures the No. 1 seed. If the Packers lose in Chicago and the Seahawks win in San Francisco, Green Bay would end up as either the No. 2 or No. 3 seed. They would be the No. 2 seed if the Saints lose at Carolina and they would be the No. 3 seed if the Saints win.

The Packers entered the season with the second best odds to win the NFC North behind the Vikings at DraftKings Sportsbook. The Vikings were +160 and the Packers were +180. Given how tight things were, Green Bay’s odds to make the playoffs were a mere -129, firmly in the middle of the NFC field.
